Gemma and Mark’s destination wedding in Andalusia
When I spoke to Gemma and Mark about their destination wedding in Spain, it was evident from the start that this would be a fun, colourful celebration. Gemma and Mark are both performers, having met in one of South London’s top amateur theatre groups. Naturally, their friends share the same passion for music, so I knew their special day was going to be both intimate, but also full of life.
Gemma and Mark moved to Dubai in 2018, and as such had invited family from the UK, where they met, but also a huge contingent from the United Arab Emirates, where they now reside. They had gathered their family and friends for a 3-day extravaganza at Finca Maltés San José in Andalucía, Spain. A stunning, quitessential Spanish resort, with tranquil space surrounded by nothing but the mountains. A corner of paradise.
As a destination wedding videographer, I am passionate about story-telling. I always strive to craft an artistic piece that captures the ‘why’ and the ‘where’. Gemma and Mark’s wedding film needed to encompass the love they have for each other, the beautiful location they had picked for their wedding abroad, but also their fun and adventurous nature.
The creative vision for their wedding film is inspired by the mediterranean. It’s warm in colours, and my choice of music instantly draws you into the Spanish theme. The establishing shots set the scene for a destination wedding on the Spanish coast, with drone footage of the mountains, exquisite sunset, and the couple in this authentic Andalusian finca. Gemma and Mark wanted their wedding film to be a celebration of everything that makes their relationship: the love they have for each other, the love they have for their friends, and the love they have for travel and adventure. Their film needed love and laughter, and I wanted to depict their wedding as it felt on the day: fun, yet emotional.
